Step motherly attitude towards our State Odisha for sanction of Special Category State Status and allocation of funds in various schemes including BRGF

Our State, being a very backward State of the Country having more than 40% of its population belongs to ST/SC and 50% of its population belongs to Other Backward Classes (OBCs), has been regularly demanding before the Govt. of India for sanction of Special Category State Status to our State, but no action is taken by the Government at Centre till date.
Even, during past in the occasion of natural calamities,  the Government of India had not sanctioned sufficient funds to our State to meet the emergency situations, though Hon’ble Prime Minister of the UPA Government had declared for huge financial help during his visit to our State at the time of natural calamities.
Like that, the budgetary provision of the Central Government for our State with respect to Railways, Rural Development, SC/ST & OBC welfare schemes and other poverty alleviation schemes etc. is very small in comparison to other States.
On the other hand, the Govt. of India is not paying sufficient royalty for the coal and minerals taken away from our State. Rather, on our demand for funds, the Hon’ble Prime Minister had criticized us that “Paisa kya Ped main falta hai !!!”  (Money is not fruits of the trees).
Hence, we feel and realise that the UPA Govt. has been allocating and utilising public money for prosperity of their political position, only with a motive to regain its power at the Centre and not for the development of the country and the poorest of the poor.
I  demand before His Excellency Hon’ble President of India to intervene into the matter and to give necessary direction to the Govt. of India to fulfil our demand with respect to sanction of Special Category State Status and allocation of funds in various schemes including BRGF & KBK districts.

With Warm Personal Regards:-
